Remapping
WHAT IS REMAPPING?
Remapping involves the optimisation of the manufacturer’s default engine software which is stored on the car’s ECU (or Engine Control Unit). The reason this is possible is those vehicle manufacturer’s de-tune their engines from the factory. This is due to them selling vehicles all over the world which have to take into account different climates, laws & restrictions and varying quality of fuels. As a result performance and improved driveability can easily be found with even the smallest of recalibration.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A VEHICLE REMAP?
Firstly, you will notice that your engine responds better when the accelerator is pressed. The overall torque and power will be noticeably increased. Power delivery will be smoother making for a much safer driving experience, which in turn also makes it easier and safer to overtake. Most diesel engine variants will also see improved MPG if driven with this in mind.
HOW MUCH POWER & TORQUE WILL MY CAR MAKE?
This obviously varies from vehicle to vehicle. We do not chase peak numbers, instead we concentrate in creating safe maps with smooth torque curves which will make the vehicle feel like its gained in engine size with excellent driveability.
